Add your team's schedule to Google Calendar
Subscribe once in Google Calendar and your team's games show up everywhere you use it, on the web and on your phone.
Step by step
- Pick your team on fancal and sign up free.
- On a computer, open My Feeds and click 🗓 Add to Google Calendar. Or, in Google Calendar on the web, click + next to Other calendars → From URL, paste the calendar link and click Add calendar.
- The calendar appears under Other calendars, on the web and in the Google Calendar app on your phone.
Not showing on your phone?
Open the Google Calendar app, go to Settings, tap the new calendar and make sure Sync is on.
Faster updates on Android
Google Calendar refreshes subscribed calendars on its own schedule, often only every several hours, and there is no setting to make it faster. For scores during games, the free ICSx⁵ app subscribes directly on your phone and refreshes far more often: tap +, choose subscribe to a webcal link and paste the calendar link.
Questions
How often does Google Calendar update the schedule?
Google decides when to re-check subscribed calendars; it can take several hours. Game times and results still arrive on their own, just later than in Apple Calendar or ICSx⁵.
Why subscribe instead of importing the schedule?
An imported file is a one-time copy: it never changes when a game moves or ends. A subscription is a link your calendar app checks again and again, so time changes, final scores and new games show up on their own.
Is it free?
Following one team is free. Premium ($5/month or $50/year) adds unlimited teams, whole leagues and live scores during games. Students get their school's calendar, every sport, free.
